Here's a tongue-in-cheek article about a 12-step program for Mafia Wars addicts. I got sick of feeling like I couldn't tear myself away from it, so I told my Mafia Wars peeps to rob all my properties down to the crime tape! And I gave away all my loot. That was the only way I was able to stop playing. It was fun for a while, though. Here's the article:

Obviously it’s not about “exploiting their friends”. You can block Farmville or Mafia Wars if you don’t want to see updates about them. There’s a cooperative element that a lot of people enjoy there; they enjoy bartering with friends for items and sharing the wealth when they have it.Farmville is The Sims: Farm Life pared down to work in Flash on old computers. It is popular for the same reasons The Sims was popular and it appeals to the same demographic, but it is even more popular because Facebook has become a vector to involve _real-life_ friends and to allow people to get sucked into the game and play for a few minutes at a time.

This is just ONE of the many scams Zygna is doing! The current one is making completed Mafia Wars jobs disappear over and over again, while people are paying REAL money to complete the jobs. This is blatant FRAUD. Facebook developers do absolutely nothing, and Zynga gives nothing but prefab responses to try and pacify its angry users. I sincerely hope they get sued, and Facebook as well for allowing it!
